Izzy Pludwinski is a sofer’s sofer. He generously helped to refine the letter forms in the cross-stitch alphabet used throughout this project.
Although primarily a hand-calligrapher, Izzy has designed several computer fonts and is author of the recent book, Mastering Hebrew Calligraphy. This very readable volume is a wealth of information on scribal arts that goes well beyond the formation of letters.
Izzy was the chosen Hebrew calligrapher for the St John’s Bible, an inspiring project that like Torah Stitch By Stitch, was created by many hands over several years.
