Where do we go from here?

Many of our stitchers, supporters and exhibit visitors have asked us where the Torah Stitch by Stitch project will next be shown.  The truth is . . . YOUR ONGOING ENGAGEMENT & SUPPORT WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE.

YOU CAN BRING "TAPESTRY OF SPIRIT" [closer] TO YOUR COMMUNITY!

The Torah Stitch by Stitch project is now complete and in storage while we seek out a permanent home in which it can be shared with a wide audience. The project includes a documentary film and comes with a pragmatic and flexible armature.  Standing seven feet high, the Tapestry extends 100 yards in length: it can be free-standing or wall hung and is configurable to most gallery layouts.

The first half of the project was exhibited at the Textile Museum of Canada in 2019.  Attendance figures were impressive and  Press was excellent.

One visitor spoke eloquently for many:

[The Tapestry] is beautifully finished and displayed, with a wealth of interesting images to lead you along. The film is perfect.

After walking though and reflecting, I felt the work of art speaks at so many levels . . . The work fits well with our little museum as well. It speaks to women in a special way and reaches out to the humanism which should lie in all religions.  And for me, it offered inspiration that great things still can be accomplished . . .

For interested venues — We can provide information about space needs, as well as shipping, installation and other costs.

Experience has taught us that interest from the local community is the best way to make an exhibit happen. Please give us actual introductions to museums (including cultural centres and university campuses; and their Board members) in North America and even Europe that would be a good fit for this unique project.  If you can make the introduction, we will take it from there.

Feel free to send a link especially to the exhibition page and press coverage .

COMPLETION

Our goal is to complete the Torah and to share its beauty and remarkable story as widely as possible.

The reality is that 3 elements are necessary in order to reach this goal:
Volunteers
Venues
Wherewithal

By mid 2020 we will have received all of the remaining text panels and many beautiful illuminations. It will take up to 18 months more to proof read, scan and assemble them.

Even with our intrepid volunteers, there are costs for materials and additional structural elements, as well as storage, insurance, etc. We also intend to publish a book that encompasses the whole project.

Not to mention finding museums that can exhibit a single artwork the length of a football field!
